Facility Spotlights

Burke Lakefront Airport
Cleveland, OH (BKL)
Midwest ATC has been operating the Burke Lakefront Airport FAA Contract Tower (BKL FCT) since 1994.

Designated as the primary reliever airport for Cleveland International Airport and located on the waterfront of Lake Erie in downtown Cleveland, BKL is frequently used by professional sports team charter flights due to its proximity to Huntington Bank Field, Progressive Field, and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

The airport is home to the International Women’s Air & Space Museum and serves as the host for the Cleveland National Airshow annually in September.

The tower is a recipient of multiple Midwest ATC Facility Awards including the 2018 Great Lakes Region Controller of the Year.
Chandler Municipal Airport
Chandler, AZ (CHD)
The Chandler Municipal Airport FAA Contract Tower (CHD FCT) became a Midwest ATC operated facility in February 2025.

With nearly 250,000 tower operations in 2025, CHD is one of the busiest general aviation airports and flight training schools of any airport in the FCT Program and in the nation.

The airport’s vicinity to other airports, including Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and Mesa Gateway Airport, creates a complex airspace environment for ATC.
Easton Airport/ Newnam Field
Easton, MD (ESN)
Midwest ATC has been operating the Easton Airport/Newnam Field FAA Contract Tower (ESN FCT) since 2008.

ESN is a regional airport located on the eastern shore of the Chesapeake Bay. The airport provides service to nearly 200 locally based aircraft, three fixed base operators, and a major flight training center.

The flight training center provides training to Naval Academy Midshipman through their summer Initial Flight Training Program.

The tower is the recipient of multiple Midwest ATC Facility Awards including the 2017 Eastern Region Facility of the Year.
Trenton Mercer Airport
Trenton, NJ (TTN)
Midwest ATC has been operating the Trenton Mercer Airport FAA Contract Tower (TTN FCT) since 2005.

The airport averages 300,000 passenger enplanements annually.

TTN airport is home to the NJ State Police and NJ National Guard.

TTN Airport hosts the annual Sunshine Foundation “Operation Dreamlift” which transports local children to Walt Disney World for a special day.

The tower is award winner of a recent Midwest ATC Facility Award recognizing them as the 2024 Eastern Region Facility of the Year.
